Summer Fun, Almost Done?! (June and July)

Where has the summer gone?!  I can't believe it's been two months since I last did a BLOG entry.  Guess that means we've been too busy having fun this summer to sit inside and get on the computer.  Well, prepare yourself because my camera card was full, and I have lots of fun pictures of the kids keeping busy this summer.

Special night to read at the local library.
Asher and Katelyn make everyone snacks.

sleepover!

Children's Museum fun

Everyone joins in the firefighter fun.

Ezra loves working on his railroad.

... but his favorite inside activity is Transformers.

Who let the pirates in the house?

This pirate needed a quick break from the high sea.

Fun inside... forts all around the living room.

Who's this guy? Truly a master of many disguises.

Puppet fun... Ezra's favorite is Sunny the Iguana.

Asher and cousin Katelyn setting up the castle.

Homemade milk shakes. Even tastier in the tent.

I think someone is trying to sneak some from brother.

Asher building his own shelter/fort.

Ezra loves climbing trees (with daddy's help).

Ezra busy at work with his favorite dump truck.

Summer is a great time to make your own ice cream.

Water fun in the sprinkler!

More water fun when the cousins came to stay.

Ezra and Katelyn gearing up for a water fight.

Chase is thrilled to get Uncle Al all wet.

Asher can climb trees all by himself now.

Boys reading outside.  Asher is identifying our trees.

Construction vehicle "Petting Zoo" at our library.

Ezra was thrilled to get in the cab... and found the horn :)

Asher decided to be President for the day.

No Ezra doesn't need glasses, but he likes dad's old pair.

Fun with Play-Doh.

They were busy all morning.  First baking, then making royalty.

Ezra loves all his stuffed animals.  I love those big eyes and that smile!

Dinosaurs have taken over the kitchen.

Sometimes summer fun is exhausting.
Taking some time for snuggles with dad.
Special sleepy time with mommy.

Asher's Area & Art

Asher has been asking me to post pictures of his room.  He decided after we moved that he should have a twin bed, so he'd have more floor space to play.  It's fun to see how he uses his space as his play evolves.  Knights and the royal family still occupy his wooden castle, sometimes the superheroes come out (especially when he's playing with Ezra), and building with Legos is also popular.  Lately though he is doing even more dramatic play and lots of art.  Asher likes to be the author and illustrator of his own books and has been making sculptures out of paper.

Asher loves his reading corner.

His new twin bed.

Asher's desk area is where he spends most of his time.
Asher's spot for all his Playmobil & dress up props.

Happy boy, comfy in his own space.

Merlin the Wizard.

More paper art.

It has been great to see him take responsibility for and pride in his own space.  He really does a great job of cleaning and organizing his room.

Often, brother likes to do whatever Asher is doing.  At the start of Summer we tried to balance time outside and going places with fun art projects at home.  Here are a couple pictures of the boys with the stamp pads...
